Still, it's about to get even better. Launching Fear the Walking Dead's third season, the series took out Travis Manawa, the character many suspected to be in a leading role for the long haul. It was the first true sign (with many to follow) of the show fully embracing the apocalypse Walking Dead fans have known for years. According to Victor Strandactor Colman Domingo, the quality of Fear the Walking Dead will continue to get better. "I credit [showrunner] Dave Erickson and his writing team," Domingo said. "I credit AMC for having the patience for our show to unfold at a slower pace actually than [The Walking Dead]." "I credit truly Dave Erickson and his vision," Domingo said. "I think that he's such a dynamic showrunner and writer and I think if you think Season Three already has been pretty awesome, the back half of the season is pretty epic. Things happen. We were all so exhausted throughout the entire shoot. We realized we're no longer making television. We're making epic film after epic film, you know." "I think that by the time we get to Season Three, everything is amped up and we are max-dead in the apocalypse," Domingo said. "We have made our mistakes in Season Two. I think the audience is probably frustrated with our characters because we didn't know so much and they had the cards in their hand. Now we're finally catching up to the universe and catching up in many ways to our sister series." With six episodes left in Fear the Walking Dead's third season, it sounds like the already seen improvements are just the beginning. "Things are going to happen," Domingo said. "The stunt work, the makeup work, the character of the story, there's blood, there's betrayal... The stakes get even higher as we lead towards the back half of the season."
